Peak-Ryzex Golf And Karting Day For SANDS Swindon And Megan Baker A Huge Success
Enterprise mobility experts at Peak-Ryzex held their second annual charity golf and karting day recently at Castle Combe Golf Club and Castle Combe Circuit raising a total of £10,500.
Hosted in support of Peak-Ryzex’ two chosen charities, SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) Swindon and Megan Baker House, customers, business partners from across Europe took part in the Texas Scramble tournament at the 18 hole luxury golf course in Wiltshire.
After a shotgun start and the sun making an appearance, players from seven teams were able to sample the delights of the course and had the opportunity to win awards from Qcom, sponsors of the putting
competition, Scansource and B2M, sponsors of the nearest to pin, BlueStar sponsors of the longest drive and Ingram Micro, sponsors of “Beat the Pro” challenge which involves amateur players trying to beat the tee shot played by the pro.
Meanwhile at Castle Combe circuit, more than 30 petrol head karters geared up to participate in an exhilarating Endurance race, kindly sponsored by Kazam. Teams of four took to the circuit to talk strategy in preparation for an action packed non-stop race.
With the whole group reconvening for dinner, presentations and a prize giving took place where the winning team was awarded the coveted claret jug trophy along with many other fantastic awards. Following the prize giving, a representative from both charities presented on the great work that they do. SANDS Swindon provides nationwide support for bereaved parents and the much needed funds will go towards the upkeep of the Swindon Memorial garden – a place for thoughts and paying tributes to those who lost their lives. Megan Baker a charity that provides Conductive Education for children with special educational needs and neurological motor disorders.
Jobe Taylor Davies, the nephew of Marketing Manager Jessica Davies at Peak-Ryzex, attends Megan Baker regularly and the family has seen Jobe take huge strides in progress since a serious head injury in October 2012. Jessica Davies, Marketing Manager at Peak-Ryzex commented: “We are delighted with the number of teams that took part this year and we are grateful to everyone who supported two special charities which are greatly reliant on income raised by local fundraising events such as these.”
Peak-Ryzex would like to thank all the sponsors of the event, including AIDC distributors who sponsored the golfing Bluestar as well as leading industry mobile organisations like BT Global Services for contributing towards the event.
