Zinpro, a leading animal nutrition company based in Minnesota, is dedicated to improving animal wellness and performance by supplying organic trace minerals in feed ingredients. The source of those minerals is colostrum – a nutrient- and antibody-rich milk produced by cows in late pregnancy. A network of truck drivers is used to collect colostrum in pails during calving time and deliver it to frozen warehouses, where it is stored in batches for timely processing.
Zinpro wanted to transform its data collection process by:
Converting to an automated, mobile data-collection platform
Enabling systematic track and trace of product from farm to batch
Integrating with its new database: SAP HANA
Ensuring timely and accurate payment to route drivers and farmers
A unique, customised mobile solution resulted from the tight integration of services between Peak Ryzex and Movilitas. Movilitas conducted a mobility assessment study and proposed a cloud-based software platform – Movilizer – to link the collection process in the field directly to Zinpro's SAP system. "Movilizer has performed quite well," says Mark Thome, director of information technology at Zinpro. "The transactions into the SAP environment are straightforward. We haven't had one bad transaction because of the Movilizer."
Thanks to the new Movilizer automated data collection process, Zinpro is able to pay farmers and drivers with practically 100 percent accuracy. Plus, the process creates a systematic and transparent track-and-trace record from the farm to the warehouse in near real time – a capability Zinpro never had before.
